Cherry Skies is a concept I came up with
in college, at first in fragments, as I saw characters and images, then
with more depth as I detailed a world in my mind. It never quite got to
paper, though, mostly due to a lack of plot connections... Knowing where I
wanted to go, but not how to get there.
I think I finally have it, though... the connections and themes I want,
and, of course, the most important thing a writer can have:
A deadline.
Cherry Skies is set in an unnamed city, a city that has long
since forgotten its name, and is the last city left standing after a
nuclear holocaust. Time has passed, and the place that once was has
ballooned inside it's protective, opaque shell.
The story follows a young woman, a landscape artist, as she is battling
a fatal disease, and one day, is handed the cure. |
